The Reason Behind the Strength of Imu-Sama and the FIVE ELDERS | What Have They Fought to Gain Their Power?

The combat abilities of Imu-sama and the FIVE ELDERS have already been revealed, and it’s clear that they’ve reached a level that would require extensive battle experience. But where and how did they gain this experience? Let’s explore this topic!

The Fighting Celestial Dragons

As I’ve written before, Celestial Dragons typically have no need to fight themselves. However, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn is putting himself in extreme situations, actually experiencing pain.
From what we’ve seen of Saturn, he seems well-versed in combat, almost as if he’s used to it. Being accustomed to fighting implies that he has extensive experience…
But why would a Celestial Dragon, who supposedly has no need to fight, have such experience?
This is something that personally intrigues me. Considering the existence of the Holy Knights and other “Fighting Celestial Dragons,” it seems likely that the Celestial Dragons have been battling some unknown force beyond the knowledge of humanity.
If they were naturally gifted with high combat skills and physical abilities, rigorous training alone could have made them superhumanly strong. But Saturn’s scar suggests otherwise. Despite having regenerative abilities, Saturn’s scar remains, much like the scar that Oden’s Togen Totsuka left on Kaido—a wound that wouldn’t heal and couldn’t be erased, likely inflicted with deadly intent…
Even the general Celestial Dragons, represented by Saint Charlos, don’t seem to engage in combat, yet they are notably resilient and tough…
This might be attributed to the bloodline of the Twenty Kings who won the war during the Void Century, but Imu-sama, the FIVE ELDERS, and the Holy Knights seem to be in a league of their own, suggesting that they have indeed been fighting someone or something.
During the God Valley incident 38 years ago, the Holy Knights spoke as if the Marines were useless and unreliable, indicating that they have the actual strength to back up their confidence.
That confidence likely stems from having faced strong opponents and emerging victorious, which makes one wonder—who have they been fighting?
