At the end of Chapter 1129, Luffy punches through the wall of Road’s miniature world.

What kind of scenery lies beyond it?

Road mentioned that the miniature world was originally a detention facility for giants. If we take his words at face value, the temple and miniature world may have been a prison for criminals. However, the use of the word “originally” suggests that it might no longer be in use.

If Elbaf had laws and this place was used to imprison those who broke them, it’s possible that something significant happened in the past, and we might learn more about Elbaf’s history as a result.

Additionally, criminals may have been exiled to islands as punishment, so there’s a chance that the island where Luffy and his crew currently find themselves is not Elbaf’s mainland.

If the detention center or prison is no longer in use, it could mean it’s now uninhabited, making Road’s current residence there a sign that he might be aware his actions are unlawful.
