ONE PIECE Chapter 1129 Analysis | Linlin and Elbaf

Will Linlin’s ‘Past’ Be Addressed Through Zeus in the Elbaf Arc? Possibility of a Powered-Up Revival?

Will Linlin’s ‘past’ be addressed through Zeus during the Elbaf Arc? In Chapter 1129, it looks like Nami and Zeus will take the spotlight, and when you think of Elbaf and Zeus, Linlin naturally comes to mind… Could this mean that Linlin’s past will be explored through Zeus? In this article, I’ll dive into that idea!

Linlin and Elbaf

Big Mom, also known as Charlotte Linlin, was defeated in Wano by Kid and Law, falling into a magma chamber, leaving her fate unknown. Linlin, born a natural ‘monster,’ was abandoned by her biological parents who couldn’t handle her and was left in Elbaf. There, she was taken in by Mother Carmel, who ran the ‘Sheep’s House’ orphanage on the outskirts of Elbaf, and Linlin spent a short part of her childhood there…

However, due to her insatiable hunger — a dangerous condition known as “eating disorders” — she caused massive destruction in an Elbaf village, leading to her banishment by the giants of Elbaf.

Because of this, the Sheep’s House was also banished from Elbaf. All of this was the result of Linlin’s actions, and the giants of Elbaf did not wish to exile the Sheep’s House out of malice. However, Linlin was branded with the label “unworthy of gratitude toward the sun,” which is likely a severe crime in Elbaf, reserved for the most unforgivable offenses.

The reason Linlin is both hated and feared by the giants goes beyond her actions in Elbaf; it stems from how she acquired her abilities. When a giant snuck a look at the banished Sheep’s House, he witnessed a horrifying scene during Linlin’s birthday party — as Linlin devoured not only the croquembouche, but also Mother Carmel and the children, all of whom were dear to her.

This shocking event is likely the primary reason Linlin is abhorred by the giants of Elbaf. Linlin herself has no memory of this, and she believes everyone simply abandoned her. While Linlin can understand why the giants dislike her, she doesn’t comprehend the deeper reason for their revulsion. Only the giant who witnessed this and Streusen are aware of the full truth.

With the Elbaf Arc upon us, it feels like this truth may be revealed at last…
