Is Imu-Sama Controlled by the Desire to Control? | Controlled by the Desire to Control?
Controlled by the Desire to Control?
The world’s highest authority controls the world, but one could say that controlling the world is their duty…
Luffy once said to Rayleigh, “The Pirate King is the freest person in the world.” From Luffy’s perspective, Imu-sama’s position might seem “restrictive” in every sense.
Imu-sama can use their will to do anything to nations and people, as they did to the Kingdom of Lulusia, yet they can’t control their own situation…
Freedom implies being able to do what you want when you want and act according to your desires. But Imu-sama can’t do that…
Personally, it seems that Imu-sama is controlled by the very act of controlling the world, and I can’t imagine they’re leading a happy life…
It’s absolutely impossible, but hypothetically, if Imu-sama were to ask Luffy to switch places with them, Luffy would probably refuse with all his might, saying, “No way in hell!”
Even the FIVE ELDERS likely wouldn’t want to take Imu-sama’s place.
No matter how powerful one is, the fact that they’re considered non-existent must be incredibly lonely, and no one would want to be in that position…
Thinking about it, I can’t help but wonder why Imu-sama placed themselves in such a position. It raises even more questions about their motivations…
If Imu-sama is trying to become a true god, it might make sense for them to avoid unnecessary contact with humans. Perhaps they believe that interacting with humans would prevent them from fully becoming a god. However, since Imu-sama was originally human, it seems impossible for them to become a true god.
Imu-sama appears to have complex, human-like emotions toward Queen Lily, which suggests that even after 800 years, they haven’t fully transcended to become a god.
If they haven’t achieved it in 800 years, it’s unlikely they ever will, no matter how much time passes…
I can’t help but think that Imu-sama is the most unfree person in the world…
