ONE PIECE Chapter 1124 Confirmed Spoilers! | Akainu Reprimands Kizaru

Akainu Reprimands Kizaru

Just before Luffy and his crew began their full-scale battle against the FIVE ELDERS, Admiral Kizaru, also known as Borsalino, withdrew from the frontlines…

He was given the terrible task of killing his dear friend Vegapunk with his own hands, a mission he ultimately completed, but it seems he lost the will to fight afterward.

Even though Vegapunk was trying to kill him, Vegapunk appeared to be concerned about Borsalino’s mental state. However, it seems Borsalino was unable to bear the guilt, loss, and self-loathing that followed…

Physically, Borsalino might still be capable of fighting, but he ultimately didn’t take any further action.

Apparently, there will be a conversation between Fleet Admiral Akainu Sakazuki and Borsalino, likely via communication.

In that conversation, it seems Sakazuki will reprimand Borsalino…

Despite being one of the Navy’s strongest assets, Borsalino allowed Vegapunk’s broadcast and Luffy’s escape, leading to a disastrous outcome for the Navy…

Given the magnitude of the forces he commanded, it’s no surprise that Borsalino would face criticism, but it seems Sakazuki’s reprimand is based not just on the outcome but on the fact that Borsalino didn’t fight until the end.

Borsalino, still emotionally fragile, apparently cries during the reprimand, which suggests he may no longer be fit to serve as an Admiral.

As I’ve written before, there’s a strong possibility that Borsalino will retire as a form of taking responsibility for this incident, and I personally hope he does.

Whether he’ll express this to Sakazuki remains unclear, but given that he took the life of his friend for the sake of the World Government and Navy, and considering his past accomplishments, it’s fair to say he’s done enough…

I’d like to see what Borsalino would be like as an ordinary citizen as well…

It will be interesting to see whether Sakazuki will allow Borsalino’s retirement or take any action against him, but I suspect Sakazuki will take a stance similar to how he treated Kuzan after he left the Navy—by not pursuing those who choose to leave.

Borsalino’s departure would be a significant loss, but Sakazuki might not have the luxury to try and hold onto him…

It seems that, for Sakazuki, the only path forward is to keep looking ahead rather than clinging to those who can no longer fight.

However, in light of the Egghead Incident, Sakazuki might deeply regret not finishing Luffy off during the Paramount War…
