Is Saint Nasujuro Rooted in Wano Country? | The First Kitetsu
The First Kitetsu
It seems highly likely that the sword Saint Nasujuro wields is the First Kitetsu. If that’s the case, it strengthens the possibility of his connection to Wano Country. While little is known about the swordsmith Kitetsu, Sukiyaki—who assumed the identity of Tenguyama Hitetsu—referred to the second generation as his ancestor. If that’s to be taken literally, it suggests that Kitetsu may have been a member of the Kozuki Clan.
It’s plausible that the First Kitetsu was Kitetsu’s masterpiece, perhaps created as a tribute to his lord. The Kitetsu swords are known to be cursed, and cursed blades are often depicted as having the power to change their wielders.
In various stories, samurai who wield cursed swords are portrayed as committing crimes such as night slashing, driven by the curse. It’s possible that the First Kitetsu had a similar influence, leading to the downfall of Wano’s royal family.
While I’ve explored various possibilities, it’s also possible that Saint Nasujuro has no connection to Wano and that the Ethanbaron family simply has a Japanese-inspired aesthetic. However, considering Wano’s hidden history and the possibility that its king betrayed the Great Kingdom, I suspect there’s more to Wano’s story.
I also wonder if Wano had a different name more than 800 years ago. There’s no doubt that Wano Country plays a significant role in the world’s true history. Given that the Nefertari family, a clan of the D., was originally among the Twenty Kings, the idea that Wano’s king may have betrayed the Great Kingdom seems plausible.
This concludes the article. Thank you very much for reading it to the end!
