What was the Ancient Robot created for? In past articles, I’ve speculated that it might have originally been built for resource extraction. However, this time, I’d like to consider the possibility that it was purely a weapon, especially in relation to the Ancient Giants. Let’s explore this further!
Was There an Army of Ancient Robots?
In a previous article, I suggested that if the Ancient Robot was created as a weapon during the war against the First 20 during the Void Century, having just one would be too few. No matter how powerful it is, having only one robot seems unlikely. While one robot might possess enough combat power, the fact that at least 50 Pacifistas were created, and that there are seven Seraphims, indicates that numbers matter.
In many robot-themed creations, there are rarely just one robot. Even in stories where the protagonist’s robot is unique, the enemies usually have multiple robots. So, in a war that spanned a century, it’s hard to imagine there being only one robot. It seems more likely that multiple Ancient Robots existed, forming an army that fought together. After a long and intense battle, perhaps only one, the one sleeping on Egghead, survived.
But what was the purpose of creating such enormous robots? While the Seraphims and Pacifistas are large, they are still reasonably sized for fighting humans. However, the Ancient Robot seems far too large for fighting humans. Even in battles against giants, the robot’s size seems excessive. Given that the giants were likely allies, and that the Ancient Robot resembles the giants of Elbaf, could it be that the Ancient Robot was designed to counter the Ancient Giants?
