Is the Sandworm’s Stomach a Black Hole? | A Mythical Beast with the Properties of the Yami Yami no Mi?

A Mythical Beast with the Properties of the Yami Yami no Mi?

The Sandworm’s suction attack is reminiscent of the Yami Yami no Mi’s Black Hole ability used by Teach. Mythical Zoan abilities often include aspects similar to those of Logia and Paramecia types. Kaido’s Azure Dragon could wield powers resembling the Mera Mera no Mi, Magu Magu no Mi, Goro Goro no Mi, and even the Fuw Fuw no Mi, controlling elements like fire, magma, lightning, and wind. Yamato’s Okuchi no Makami also exhibited ice-like powers similar to those of the Hie Hie no Mi.

If the Sandworm’s suction ability is indeed similar to the Yami Yami no Mi’s Black Hole, it raises the question of what happens to those who are sucked in. When people were sucked into Teach’s Black Hole, they described the experience as becoming one with the darkness itself. Although the Sandworm is gigantic, it doesn’t seem to expand when it sucks things in, so perhaps its insides are an otherworldly space that can be described as “darkness.”

If the Sandworm’s suction is bottomless like the Yami Yami no Mi, then its body could indeed contain such a dark, otherworldly space. However, since Luffy managed to stuff its mouth with a building, we don’t know for sure. But if the Sandworm is a mythical beast, it’s not surprising that its insides might be an alternate dimension.

If its suction is truly bottomless, Peter Saint could likely destroy an entire nation on his own. This ability would also be highly effective for erasing inconvenient individuals. The immense size of the Five Elder Stars’ mythical beasts makes them particularly intimidating. Could this be related to their awakened forms?
