Is the Submersion of the World the “Promised Day”? | The Reason for the World’s Submersion
The Reason for the World’s Submersion
After Imu seemingly used the Ancient Weapon Uranus to erase the Kingdom of Lulusia, a massive hole was created in its place, triggering a huge earthquake and raising the sea level by one meter. If such an event were to be replicated multiple times using the Mother Flame, it’s conceivable that the world could indeed sink into the sea. But would such widespread use really be possible?
The destruction of the Kingdom of Lulusia served as a demonstration to suppress rebellions, but if the world knew that the Celestial Dragons had such a weapon and could use it at any time, it would easily break the spirit of any who might resist, including groups like the Revolutionary Army. The knowledge that the whole world could suffer collateral damage would likely prevent large-scale uprisings.
Thus, it seems unnecessary to use the weapon excessively. Furthermore, as I’ve mentioned before, using such a weapon would likely incur the wrath of the ocean itself. Whether or not the ocean has a will of its own is unknown, but given its ability to reject Devil Fruit users, it seems to have an inherent force that doesn’t tolerate unnatural beings. This could very well be the will of a true god, manifesting as the ocean’s energy.
I can’t shake the feeling that the ocean’s will plays a significant role in the idea of the world’s submersion. However, there could also be some influence from space, possibly hinting at something from beyond our world. The existence of the lunar civilization and space pirates confirms that intelligent life exists in the cosmos, and with the apparent absence of water on the moon, the rich oceans of the blue planet could be extremely attractive to these extraterrestrial beings.
Considering this, we should also keep in mind the possibility of external influences from space. Perhaps the ocean itself is the blue planet, the One Piece world, and it’s something that everyone must protect.
