Do Imu and the Five Elders Desire the World’s Submersion!? | The Ancient Weapon Poseidon and the Fish-Men/Merfolk

The Ancient Weapon Poseidon and the Fish-Men/Merfolk

Even if Imu and the others plan to use the world’s submersion to create their ideal world, there are species that wouldn’t perish. The Fish-Men and Merfolk can breathe and live underwater, and their physical abilities are said to be ten times those of humans, meaning they could survive. Additionally, if there are any surviving members of the Lunarian race aside from King, they too could endure due to their ability to survive in any environment.

These species, which can survive the world’s submersion, possess abilities far beyond those of humans, making them formidable enemies. The Lunarians are supposedly extinct, so I’ll focus on the Fish-Men and Merfolk. Their kingdom, the Ryugu Kingdom, is a member of the World Government, and the Celestial Dragons exert control over them.

Despite the severe discrimination and persecution they’ve faced, the Fish-Men and Merfolk have thrived, unlike the Buccaneers. The Ryugu Kingdom’s entry into the World Government 200 years ago might have been a strategy to co-opt and pacify them by recognizing their survival and prosperity. However, the fact that the Fish-Men and Merfolk essentially possess the ancient weapon Poseidon still makes them a significant threat to Imu and the others.

It’s possible that the period from the end of the Void Century to the present day has been a time of preparation for the inevitable battle over world dominance between the Fish-Men/Merfolk with Poseidon and the World Government with Uranus. The World Government has been preparing to win this battle, and the key to victory lies in overwhelming military power and the ancient weapon Uranus.

However, Uranus couldn’t be used until Vegapunk invented the Mother Flame, but now that they have it, Imu and the others are likely close to having everything they need to control the entire world, including the seas.
