Why Is Imu Silent About Vegapunk’s Message? | Does Exposure Hold No Meaning?
Does Exposure Hold No Meaning?
Imu remains silent while listening to Vegapunk, perhaps because there is a trust in the Five Elders to stop the broadcast before it reaches more sensitive content. Whether the Five Elders have changed over the centuries remains unclear, but it’s a fact that they, along with Imu, have managed to keep the world’s true history hidden for the past 800 years. From Imu’s perspective, this track record might instill confidence that the Five Elders will indeed stop Vegapunk’s message.
However, as I’ve previously speculated, it’s possible that the World Government has reached a point where no revelation truly threatens them anymore. This could be due to the Ancient Weapons they possess, which, now functional, can quell any revolutionary fervor stirred by Vegapunk’s revelations. The Lulusia Kingdom was wiped off the map, leaving a hole in the sea, triggering earthquakes and raising sea levels by a meter.
If any nation rebels, only to be annihilated like Lulusia, the resulting global earthquakes and rising sea levels would affect everyone. This possibility ties into Vegapunk’s message about the Mother Flame and his warning that the world could be submerged.
Ironically, Vegapunk’s revelations might make nations and people less inclined to defy the World Government, fearing the catastrophic consequences. Even the seven nations currently in rebellion might feel compelled to surrender if Vegapunk reveals that the Celestial Dragons possess Ancient Weapons powered by the Mother Flame and ready to be deployed. The same logic could apply to the Revolutionary Army.
Imu might be contemplating this scenario, confident that regardless of what Vegapunk says, the power of the Ancient Weapons will only solidify the Celestial Dragons’ grip on the world. In a sense, Imu could be planning to use Vegapunk’s message, intended to incite revolution, to achieve the opposite effect. However, there are surely some things they still want to keep hidden…
