Why Doesn’t Saint Shalria Know About the Void Century? | A Foundation That Prevents the Emergence of Heretics?

About 30 years ago, a heretic emerged among the Celestial Dragons. Saint Donquixote Homing, Doflamingo’s father, suddenly declared himself a human one day. This declaration, which denied the divinity of all Celestial Dragons, led to a massive backlash from the other Celestial Dragons. Yet, despite this, Saint Homing renounced his status and descended to the surface with his family.

The tragic outcome of this decision was depicted in Doflamingo’s backstory, but the reasons and circumstances behind Homing’s sudden “human declaration” remain unknown. However, he did say, “We were always human.”

More recently, Saint Mjosgard was executed by Saint Garling after he declared, “I was made human” during his conversation with Queen Otohime of the Ryugu Kingdom, effectively making a human declaration similar to Homing’s. He even went so far as to protect Princess Shirahoshi, putting himself against the other Celestial Dragons.

For a Celestial Dragon to declare themselves human is dangerous, as it could easily dismantle everything they’ve built. To prevent more heretics like Homing and Mjosgard, it’s possible that the younger generation of Celestial Dragons is being indoctrinated with a completely fabricated history that omits or even denies their past as human royalty.

The common folk are taught that the “First 20” founded the World Government and established the world as it is today. But I suspect the Celestial Dragons are taught a revised history that positions them as gods from the start. For the rulers, confidence in their divinity is crucial. Even though they share the same physical form as humans, they are made to believe they are special beings.

The fact that Saint Shalria is unaware of the Void Century might be a result of the efforts to prevent the rise of more heretics.
