The Void Century = Peace and Order vs. Freedom and Chaos!? | The Ideology of Freedom and Chaos Section heading: The Ideology of Freedom and Chaos
It’s highly likely that the First 20 saw those who sought to change the world as evil, as they sought to preserve peace and order. However, it’s clear that Joy Boy aimed to change the world. In a world where peace and order are maintained through power, there will inevitably be people who suffer under that power…
While people in a kingdom ruled by a benevolent king might live well, those under the rule of a tyrant would suffer greatly… However, even in a free world without kings and nobles, the strong would prey on the weak, and people would still suffer under some form of power. Perhaps Joy Boy had a revolutionary way to overcome this…
A world that values freedom would naturally be chaotic and lack order, but it would also be a world where anyone has the chance to become anything… It’s exciting to think about what kind of world Joy Boy sought to create, but it seems that human progress, as Vegapunk desires, would have been crucial to making such a world sustainable.
Even in a world of freedom and chaos, there would need to be spiritual progress among humans to prevent it from becoming a dog-eat-dog world… As I’ve discussed before, I believe the core of Joy Boy’s ideology was the idea that humanity, as a whole, should see itself as one organization, one group, one collective of comrades.
Luffy calls the people he meets his friends or crewmates, even calling those who were once enemies his friends later on… Moreover, Luffy has a talent for turning battlefields into opportunities to gain allies… Additionally, Luffy considers even non-human creatures as friends or crewmates…
If Luffy and Joy Boy share the same ideology, then Luffy’s actions so far could be seen as a reflection of Joy Boy’s beliefs… However, this ideology would be extremely inconvenient for those in power who cling to their authority…
