Does Saint Nasujuro Know About the Kitetsu and Kotetsu Swords? | The Knowledge of Kitetsu and Kotetsu

The Knowledge of Kitetsu and Kotetsu

In ONE PIECE Chapter 1117, Saint Mars mentions that the Iron Giant is indeed the same one that attacked the Holy Land Marijoa 200 years ago, hinting at the Gorosei being centuries old. If this is the case, then it’s plausible that Nasujuro might possess extensive knowledge about the Kitetsu and Kotetsu swords.

The known members of the Kitetsu line include Kitetsu, Kotetsu, and Koushiro, who also went by the name Tenguyama Hitetsu. The Kitetsu swordsmith line likely dates back to the Void Century or even earlier, making it one of the most ancient and revered lines of swordsmiths in Wano.

Given Nasujuro’s possible age and background, it wouldn’t be surprising if he knew about the Kitetsu or Kotetsu swordsmiths personally. His possession of what might be the Shodai Kitetsu adds weight to this theory.

In a previous article, I suggested that while Nasujuro currently bears the surname “Ethanbaron,” he might actually be from the Amatsuki clan, which could have been the ruling family of Wano in the past. If this is true, then Nasujuro wielding the Shodai Kitetsu would make perfect sense, as would his knowledge of the Kitetsu line.

Tenguyama Hitetsu referred to Kotetsu, the maker of the Nidai Kitetsu, as an ancestor, and if the Kozuki clan were originally stone masons, then perhaps the Amatsuki clan were swordsmiths. This would mean that the Kitetsu name could represent the swordsmithing heritage of the Amatsuki clan.

The sword that Toki carried when she first met Oden might also have been a Kitetsu blade, hinting at the Amatsuki clan’s deep connection to swordsmithing.

Given all this, it’s possible that the identity of Kitetsu or Kotetsu could actually be linked to Nasujuro.
