Zoro’s En-Ou Flame vs. Saint Nasujuro’s Ice! | One Piece Chapter 1117 and Beyond Analysis

Zoro’s En-Ou Flame vs. Saint Nasujuro’s Ice! | Zoro’s En-Ou Flame as a Soul Flame?

Zoro’s En-Ou Flame as a Soul Flame?

Zoro learned Kin’emon’s Foxfire Style in Wano and received Enma, which helped him awaken his Conqueror’s Haki, leading to significant growth. Now, when Zoro activates his En-Ou Santoryu, his swords become cloaked in flames…

These flames aren’t red but have a sinister hue, almost like the flames of a vengeful spirit. I’ve mentioned before that these flames might resemble “Hitodama” (soul flames).

They’re likely flames, but given that Zoro now wields the title “King of Hell,” it wouldn’t be surprising if the flames resemble soul flames, possibly reflecting Zoro’s Haki—or the Haki of the swords themselves.

The clash between Zoro and Saint Nasujuro could be seen as a battle between fire and ice, but Zoro has clearly surpassed Lucci, as evidenced by the fact that he’s holding his ground against Saint Nasujuro despite their massive size difference.

As the battle intensifies, both will likely go all out, and while their sword skills might be evenly matched, Saint Nasujuro seems to have an edge in Haki—especially in the mastery of Conqueror’s Haki.

Zoro barely won against King, but the experience seems to have led to significant growth. As the fight with Saint Nasujuro unfolds, we’re likely to learn more about Zoro’s En-Ou Santoryu.

Additionally, there’s the mention of “Kitetsu”…

So far, Sandai Kitetsu hasn’t shown any traits of a cursed sword, with Enma displaying more of these characteristics. But if Saint Nasujuro’s sword is Shodai Kitetsu, this would mark the first clash between Kitetsu swords…

If Saint Nasujuro’s ice is a feature of Shodai Kitetsu, then perhaps Sandai Kitetsu has fire-related properties…

This is a possibility worth considering…
