Will the Meaning of “D” Remain Unknown Until Someone Reaches Raftel? | Is the Cover Story Linked?
Is the Cover Story Linked?
The current cover story, “Yamato’s Sacred Kininarashi Pilgrimage,” is running as a short series, but so far, it seems completely unrelated to the main storyline of the Future Island arc…
However, I sense a possibility that it might ultimately connect with the contents of Vegapunk’s message video.
Wano Country is undoubtedly crucial to the story, especially considering its ties to the Ancient Weapon Pluton and its significant connection to the Void Century. Yamato, as a central character who read “Oden’s Travel Log,” likely possesses considerable knowledge about the Void Century.
Moreover, the Kininarashi Shrine seems to be the most sacred place in Wano, so it wouldn’t be surprising if something related to the Void Century was hidden there…
Even if someone without knowledge couldn’t understand it, Yamato might recognize something important, perhaps leading to a revelation about the meaning of “D.”
However, since the cover stories are depicted silently, readers must infer their meanings from the illustrations alone. Remember how the “Enel’s Great Space Operations” cover story shocked us with the mural on the moon…
Shrines or temples often have buildings adorned with carvings…
It’s possible that such carvings might depict something related to the meaning of “D” or hint at the moon’s civilization. If it’s a temple, it might even include a mandala-like depiction…
While it’s possible that the cover story and the main story are entirely unrelated, if they’re presented as unrelated but then lead to a surprising connection, it would be an unexpected and brilliant twist. Personally, I’m hoping for such a development…
I’ll be reading Yamato’s Kininarashi Pilgrimage closely!
That concludes this article. Thank you very much for reading to the end!
