Was the Submersion Divine Punishment? Was It to Erase Ideologies?

The ideology of the Great Kingdom was something the faction led by the original Twenty perceived as a threat, and it likely spread widely enough to be considered a danger. If the Great Kingdom’s ideology was indeed something democratic, it would have been a revolutionary idea for the people of that time, and probably a topic of much debate…

I imagine the world was divided because many people could not accept this new way of thinking and the new order… In other words, in the now-submerged “old world,” the ideology of the Great Kingdom had likely spread widely enough that everyone was aware of it, even if there was disagreement.

As I mentioned earlier, I believe that ultimately the people chose not to change… This was likely due to the original Twenty acquiring ancient weapons or some other formidable power, which they wielded as a weapon.

For the original Twenty, the world had become a place where the ideology of the Great Kingdom had spread and needed to be dealt with… In the story of Noah’s Ark in the Old Testament, God caused a flood as divine punishment for sinful humanity and to destroy evil thoughts, sparing only those who obeyed Him. Given that the original Twenty later claimed to be the creators and gods, it seems highly likely they enacted the story of Noah’s Ark in their way.

In other words, they may have viewed the ideology of the Great Kingdom as a sinful, evil ideology and submerged it all in the sea. Even those who showed a willingness to obey them were eradicated… To erase the ideology, they might have believed they had to go that far, ensuring that the survivors would never defy them again…

The old world, tainted by an inconvenient ideology, was eliminated as something “unnecessary.” Dragon once said about the extreme brutality of the Gray Terminal incident in the Goa Kingdom, “There is no happiness in a world that culls what it deems unnecessary,” and seeing the current state of the world, it seems that statement was right on target.

However, was the culling of the unnecessary the will of Imu-sama?
