Why Didn’t Saul Protect Robin After the Incident?
If Robin was confident in Saul’s survival, why did it take over 20 years for her to reunite with him?
Saul, meanwhile, appeared to have kept tabs on Robin, as evidenced by his anger over the world labeling her a “devil child” and a “murderer.”
This raises the question: if Saul was so worried about Robin, why didn’t he actively seek her out to protect her?
The answer lies in the sheer difficulty of such an endeavor.
Robin was constantly on the run, her name and face widely recognized. Saul, being a giant and highly conspicuous, would have drawn attention from the World Government if he had searched for her.
Moreover, revealing his survival would have ensured relentless pursuit by the Navy and World Government.
Despite these obstacles, Saul likely wanted nothing more than to find and protect Robin.
It’s also possible that Saul shared Robin’s belief in their eventual reunion.
At Ohara, Saul told Robin, “No one born on the sea is destined to live alone forever.”
This statement wasn’t just comforting words but a reflection of Saul’s deeply held belief.
Whether this belief came from his own experiences, teachings from his parents, or lessons from a mentor, it served as a guiding principle in Saul’s life.
Because of this conviction, Saul trusted that Robin would find companions who would protect her and, one day, bring her to him.
