Was Rocks of a Special Bloodline?
A Connection to the Great Kingdom’s Ideals?
Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) appears to have drawn significant influence from Rocks D. Xebec.
Recent dialogue from Saint Saturn suggests that Teach belongs to a “special bloodline,” adding weight to theories about Rocks’ lineage.
The relationship between Rocks and Teach—whether as parent and child, or otherwise—remains uncertain, but it seems unlikely they are unrelated.
Both share the D initial, indicating they belong to the same clan, though they may represent an especially prominent branch of that lineage.
One possibility is that Rocks was directly descended from the Great Kingdom—a civilization that sought to change the world before being annihilated by the original 20 Kings who founded the World Government.
The Great Kingdom may have been a coalition of nations, united by shared ideals. If Rocks and Teach hail from this lineage, they could carry the legacy of a king who nearly unified the world.
However, rather than inheriting the ideals of the Great Kingdom, Rocks and Teach might have only retained their ancestors’ ambition to rule.
If Rocks had suffered as a slave of the Celestial Dragons, his rebellion might have been deeply personal—a bid to reclaim the dignity stolen from his lineage.
