Why Did Elbaf Abandon Its War-Torn Past? | The Reason Elbaf Gave Up Its Days of War

The Reason Elbaf Gave Up Its Days of War

If the Void Century saw the 20 Kings establish a human-supremacist ideology in opposition to the ideals of the Great Kingdom, it’s likely that the Giant race of Elbaf sided with the Great Kingdom.

Since the Great Kingdom was destroyed, Elbaf too might have been expected to fall. Yet, the Giants survived and thrived, leading peaceful, pastoral lives.

Why did they stop waging war, or no longer need to?

The 20 Kings, later becoming the World Government, may have shifted from conquest through force to a system of control through wealth and power.

By establishing the World Government, they subdued nations not through war but by offering the illusion of order and safety.

For Elbaf, a self-sufficient and militarily powerful nation, this shift likely meant fewer direct threats. Perhaps the World Government decided to “ignore” Elbaf, considering it more trouble than it was worth to confront.

Even so, Elbaf’s children still undergo combat training, preparing for the possibility of future invasions.

As Dr. Vegapunk once said, the war isn’t over—it’s merely in a period of rest.

Perhaps by the end of the Elbaf arc, the nation will once again be forced into battle.
