What Are Loki’s Powers? The Mantle of Awakened Zoan Forms | A Mark of Being a Divine Entity?
Does the Mantle Represent a Divine Role for the Species?
Lucci and Kaku’s abilities are not divine in nature, and their unawakened forms lack a mantle.
However, when they achieve awakened forms, they gain a mantle.
What significance does this carry?
In Impel Down, the Jailer Beasts were awakened Zoan users but lost their rationality, becoming stuck in near-human-beast hybrid forms without mantles.
This stark difference highlights the advanced nature of controlled awakenings.
The mantle may symbolize that the user has transcended their species’ traits, becoming a “divine” figure for their kind.
Previously, I suggested that Lucci, as a leopard, might embody a “Leopard God.”
Now, it seems that awakening enhances not just the ability but the user themselves, perhaps elevating them into a god-like state.
Achieving an awakened form likely requires an extraordinary mind and body, enabling the user to dominate and control the essence of their animal counterpart.
This concept aligns with the idea that all humans, to varying degrees, possess “divinity.”
The concept of “Haki” (spirit) further supports this. As a manifestation of mental and spiritual strength, Haki indicates that humanity may inherently share traits with gods.
The mantle, then, might signify that the user’s spirit has evolved to a higher level, transcending ordinary existence.
This progression could also apply to the essence within the Devil Fruits themselves, marking a new phase that defies natural or physical laws.
