Is the Straw Hat a Symbol of the Dawn? | The Straw Hat as the Dawn’s Symbol

The Straw Hat as the Dawn’s Symbol

The Straw Hat, when you look at it, resembles the sun rising from the horizon.

The brim is the horizon, and the crown is the sun…

It looks that way, doesn’t it?

Pedro of the Mink Tribe was convinced that Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates were the ones who would bring about the dawn of the world, as mentioned in the Mink Tribe’s lore. He sacrificed his life to pave the way for the future.

Queen Lili of the Alabasta Kingdom 800 years ago also left a message in her letter: “Raise the flag of the dawn.” It is likely that “D” means the dawn.

The Straw Hat has existed since 800 years ago. Perhaps in the world of One Piece, it was designed after the sun of the dawn.

If that’s the case, the “flag of the dawn” mentioned by Queen Lili might have incorporated the Straw Hat into its design…

Thinking along those lines, a pirate flag with the Straw Hat design already exists in the most famous form, doesn’t it?

Perhaps, 800 years ago, the Straw Hat symbolized a highly advanced civilization of a giant kingdom. It might have been the very design of the kingdom’s national flag…

If so, it’s no wonder that Imu-sama hides what seems to be Joy Boy’s memento, the origin of that design.

The Straw Hat likely links to the meaning of “D” and cannot be exposed to the world. It must be sealed in the darkness of history forever…

But what does “the dawn” mean?
