Where Has the Sunny Gone!? | The Hall of Fallen Warriors in Valhalla?
The Hall of Fallen Warriors in Valhalla?
In Norse mythology, there’s an apocalyptic concept called ‘Ragnarok,’ which describes the final battle between gods, giants, and monsters. The gods prepare for Ragnarok by gathering warriors.
These warriors are the souls of those who died bravely in battle, known as the Einherjar.
They are chosen by Valkyries—half-god, half-human female warriors—and are taken to Valhalla, the palace of the chief god Odin, where they train relentlessly and are feasted until the day of Ragnarok.
It’s possible that the place where Nami woke up is similar to this ‘Hall of Fallen Warriors.’
Personally, I think the Sunny and its crew have been pulled into a space that resembles Valhalla, where Luffy and the others have become Einherjar-like figures.
There are already fantasy elements in ONE PIECE, but having an outright ‘Hall of Fallen Warriors’ could feel too fantastical. However, it’s more likely that this hall is a space created by a Devil Fruit user.
If a giant who is a Devil Fruit user dragged Luffy and the others into this dimension, it’s possible that this giant is someone who has lived for centuries, possibly even hundreds of years.
In the past, I’ve written about how warriors in Elbaf undergo strict combat training from childhood to grow stronger. This could be because Elbaf has a legend about a great future battle, which they call ‘Ragnarok.’
If the space Luffy and the others were pulled into is indeed the ‘Hall of Fallen Warriors,’ then there are likely many other warriors present. These warriors may have been gathered for the coming Ragnarok.
I imagine Luffy and his crew will end up fighting or partying with these warriors and eventually forming bonds with them, leading to an interesting storyline.
In a way, this could be similar to the Udon Prisoner Mine storyline from the Wano arc.
Additionally, it seems possible that Valkyries could be involved in pulling Luffy and his crew into this place.
