Will Shanks and Luffy Fight Each Other!? | A Man Keeps His Promises
A Man Keeps His Promises
Luffy made a declaration to Shanks that he would gather a crew strong enough to surpass the Red-Haired Pirates.
Since parting ways with Luffy, Shanks has been active as a pirate for about 13 years, and six years ago, he earned the title of Yonko. However, he never made any move to pursue the One Piece during that time.
Yet, right after Luffy defeated Kaido and became one of the Four Emperors, Shanks suddenly announced his intention to go after the One Piece.
During Wano, Shanks could have landed and met Luffy, but he said he had no intention of doing so.
It’s likely that Shanks had decided, even back then, to honor Luffy’s declaration and was waiting for the moment when Luffy would stand as his equal.
It’s clear that Luffy is now pursuing the One Piece, and Shanks might be planning to fulfill their promise through a One Piece battle.
Luffy’s declaration to surpass Shanks means that Luffy must defeat him in a real fight. Given their relationship, they would need a serious reason to fight for real, and the One Piece race could be just that.
If that’s the case, they can both fight to the fullest—risking everything!
Additionally, this would prove how badly Shanks wants the One Piece himself.
But why would Shanks desire the One Piece so intensely that he’s prepared to fight Luffy for it? I believe this desire ties back to his heritage and his connection to Roger…
