In ONE PIECE Chapter 1126, Bartolomeo and the Barto Club are finally cornered by the Red-Haired Pirates!

Bartolomeo and his crew had been burning the Red-Haired Pirates’ flag as part of their mission to spread the word about Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates in a port town under the Red-Haired Pirates’ protection.

While the crew didn’t seem too bothered by it, Shanks declared that Bartolomeo had insulted his trust and would have to be held accountable.

Though it’s unclear how Bartolomeo knew he was being targeted and tried to escape, it seems that he and his crew were caught by none other than Yasopp.

Bartolomeo and his crew attempted to fight back, but as expected, they were no match for the Red-Haired Pirates and were easily captured. Bartolomeo was then given a poison by the Red-Haired Pirates, with instructions to make Luffy drink it within a month to be forgiven.

However, given Bartolomeo’s deep reverence for Luffy, whom he worships like a god, there’s no way he could do such a thing. Instead, Bartolomeo drinks the poison himself. But it turns out that the poison was fake—the Red-Haired Pirates were testing Bartolomeo’s loyalty to Luffy.

Though Bartolomeo passed the test, he and his crew attempted to escape at the first opportunity. However, with just one shot from Yasopp, the Barto Club’s ship was sunk, leaving Bartolomeo and his crew decimated like the Kid Pirates and the Heart Pirates before them.

It’s a fitting end for Bartolomeo, but it’s hard to imagine that this is the last we’ll see of him. The Straw Hat Grand Fleet has yet to cause the “great incident” that will go down in history, so it’s almost certain that Bartolomeo will make a comeback.

Still, it’s significant that the Red-Haired Pirates didn’t forgive Bartolomeo despite knowing that he serves under Luffy. While they may have intended to pardon him with the poison test, his attempt to flee sealed his fate.

The fact that Bartolomeo’s Barrier-Barrier Fruit didn’t protect him underscores just how powerful the Red-Haired Pirates are.
