Was Saint Saturn Being Kept Alive by Imu’s Power?

Saint Saturn is accused by Imu of the crime of allowing “Joy Boy” to escape, and as punishment, Imu takes his life.

Through flashbacks, it’s revealed that Saint Saturn has maintained his current form for over 200 years.

This suggests that he may have been one of the original Twenty, or at least part of the next generation, and has lived alongside Imu for the past 800 years.

Imu is believed to have undergone the Immortality Surgery from the Op-Op Fruit, but it seems likely that Saint Saturn and the other FIVE ELDERS have been kept alive by Imu’s power.
It’s possible that all FIVE ELDERS share a similar fate, as their bodies possess an inexplicable regenerative ability.

At first, I thought this was due to the benefits of their Mythical Zoan Awakened Forms, but after seeing how easily Imu could dispose of Saint Saturn, I’m inclined to think their bodies are already dead, kept in the living world solely through Imu’s power.

Their bodies might be nothing more than temporary vessels, and even if they were reduced to dust, they might still regenerate as long as they remain in Imu’s favor.
Though these temporary bodies bleed and feel pain, they cannot truly be called “false” bodies.

However, as soon as Imu abandons them, they revert to their true form—nothing but bones.
Saturn once dismissed the power of the Toshi-Toshi Fruit as worthless, which leads me to believe that Imu may not be manipulating time to keep them alive.

Still, it’s hard to imagine that Imu’s power only has a single facet. It’s quite possible that Imu also possesses the ability to manipulate time in some way…

With what happened to Saint Saturn, I’m more curious than ever about Imu’s abilities, though it seems increasingly likely that they stem from a Mythical Zoan, one associated with a “God.”

I’ve previously speculated that Imu might be based on the Hindu god Shiva…
