What Will Happen to the Former Celestial Dragons?
The Revolutionary Army seeks to overthrow the Celestial Dragons, but does that mean they intend to kill them all?
Personally, I don’t believe Dragon or the members of the Revolutionary Army would resort to such extreme measures.
I’ve written about this before, but by “overthrow,” I believe they mean stripping the Celestial Dragons of their power, not killing them. Resorting to mass slaughter would make them no different from the Celestial Dragons.
While Imu and the FIVE ELDERS might be exceptions, I believe Dragon and his army are adamant that mass murder is out of the question.
But if they won’t kill them, what will they do with the “former Celestial Dragons”? Leaving them to fend for themselves would undoubtedly result in centuries of retribution from the people they’ve oppressed, which would essentially be the same as allowing them to be massacred.
Still, their crimes must be acknowledged, and justice must be served for peace to be restored.
It would be easy to demote them to slave status, but Dragon is fighting to create a world where slavery no longer exists, so that option would be unacceptable.
By the time the story reaches this point, I believe a new solution will have emerged in the world—perhaps even in the form of the ONE PIECE itself.
It will be interesting to see what Dragon has in mind for the Celestial Dragons now, considering he doesn’t yet know what the ONE PIECE is.
While removing the Celestial Dragons would lead to a world where “the unnecessary has been culled,” that still perpetuates the cycle of exclusion.
Though Dragon is fundamentally a pacifist at heart, it’s possible he understands that a bloodless revolution may be impossible, even if it’s not what he desires.
This concludes the article.
Thank you very much for reading to the end!
