Will Emet Return as an Enemy? | An Army of Evil Iron Giants Powered by the Mother Flame?
Thank you for reading this article about the possibility of Emet’s return as an enemy, powered by the Mother Flame and leading an army of evil iron giants.
I’m your host, Jack Ocean.
In this article, I will be discussing the Iron Giant Emet and Saint Saturn, focusing on the following points:

In ONE PIECE Chapter 1124, it seemed that the Future Island arc had concluded, but we never got a clear answer as to what ultimately happened with the Iron Giant Emet.
This time, I’d like to explore various thoughts on Emet!
Was the Energy Haki?
Vegapunk mentioned that he couldn’t fully understand the power source of the Iron Giant Emet.
Since Emet ceased functioning 200 years ago due to running out of energy, and considering that Vegapunk couldn’t figure out its power source, it’s odd that Emet suddenly moved.
Vegapunk was experimenting with using the Mother Flame as an energy source, but it seems that project was never completed.
After Emet unleashed Joy Boy’s Haki, it exhausted its power and entered a state of complete dormancy. But when Emet started moving, it appeared to be influenced by the Drums of Liberation echoing from Luffy’s heart.
Personally, I suspect that the energy that powered Emet was Haki, and I’ve written about this before. When considering the triggers that made Emet move and stop, it seems like a plausible theory.
However, in the present world of Vegapunk’s science, there’s no known technology capable of using Haki to power machines—especially giant robots like Emet. It’s likely that Vegapunk wasn’t even conducting research in that direction.
As I’ve written before, there may be other possibilities, but for now, it seems safe to assume that such technology does not exist.
Given that, it’s no wonder Vegapunk couldn’t solve the mystery of Emet’s power source. It seems that the advanced civilization that existed during the Void Century was indeed far more advanced than today’s world.
That said, Emet is still a machine. If the Ancient Weapons, which were created long before the Void Century, can be powered by the Mother Flame, then theoretically, Emet should also be able to run on the Mother Flame.
As mentioned earlier, Vegapunk attempted to power Emet with the Mother Flame but failed. However, Lilith stated that Vegapunk is still alive, and that includes York as well.
None of the seven Vegapunks have died.
This suggests the possibility that Vegapunk may yet make further discoveries or inventions. Considering that York works for the FIVE ELDERS, she finds herself in a highly advantageous position.
It’s unclear how serious the seven Vegapunks were about getting Emet up and running again, but if they applied the know-how from activating the Ancient Weapons, they might still manage to power Emet with the Mother Flame.
If that happens, the World Government could gain an unexpected advantage.
