The reason Saint Saturn remained on Egghead likely involves the Iron Giant Emet, the Mother Flame, or perhaps York.
Considering that Luffy and the others may not even understand the value or existence of York and the Mother Flame, it’s unlikely that anyone was going to take them, and the Marines could secure them if Saint Saturn had returned to Mary Geoise.
The same goes for Emet…
The FIVE ELDERS recognize Emet as the Iron Giant that attacked Mary Geoise 200 years ago, but they likely don’t know the details, even if they’ve seen him in person before.
After releasing Joy Boy’s Haki, Emet probably went back into slumber due to energy depletion.
